The Texas Connects Coalition, a partnership created by Technology For All (TFA) in collaboration with Austin Free-Net and the Metropolitan Austin Interactive Network, was recently awarded a $9.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP). Through the BTOP grant, TXC2 will enhance 70 public computer centers across Texas and provide computer access, technical support, digital literacy, workforce development, and other services to low-income and vulnerable populations. The centers are located across southwest Texas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Duval County, and several small rural communities in the Texas Brazos Valley.
